O Laborat�rio de Engenharia Ambiental (EEL) do Departamento de Engenharia Civil da Universidade de Patras levou a cabo um projeto para avaliar a qualidade do ar no campus da Universidade de Patras (UPC). Este projeto teve in�cio em abril de 2012, na sequ�ncia de uma reuni�o da Comiss�o Universit�ria para a Gest�o Ambiental. A Esta��o de Monitoriza��o do EEL foi instalada a 18 m a oeste do edif�cio do Departamento de Engenharia Civil. Est� equipada com analisadores autom�ticos para part�culas em suspens�o (PM10, PM2,5 e PM1), di�xido de enxofre (SO2), mon�xido de carbono (CO), �xidos de azoto (NO, NO2 e NOx) e ozono (O3), bem como para os par�metros meteorol�gicos necess�rios. As medi��es da polui��o atmosf�rica no local da UPC para o per�odo 2012-2013 s�o apresentadas no presente livro, em compara��o com os valores-limite e os dados correspondentes dispon�veis de outros locais hel�nicos e mediterr�nicos europeus com latitudes aproximadamente id�nticas. Conclui-se que o local da UPC � adequado para monitorizar a polui��o atmosf�rica secund�ria, enquanto a polui��o atmosf�rica prim�ria n�o constitui um problema. As compara��es revelam que a UPC se assemelha a locais suburbanos e rurais. Os dados s�o muito �teis para avaliar os impactos ambientais decorrentes do futuro desenvolvimento da �rea.
