When Wes Oakley finds the dead body of Joni Pool, a beautiful, young, lady from Ketchum, Idaho, is found on the mountain near his home, he is thrust into the chase to find, and apprehend, a dangerous, deranged serial killer who is terrorizing the families of Idaho who have young daughters.
As the number of murders mount, Wes becomes the only one who can determine if, and when, the killer will strike again.
When the FBI, the Idaho State Police Department's, and local police departments' attempts to solve the puzzle of the murders bog down, they turn more and more to Wes for help.
After much research, Wes determines the killer/s patterns, and sets out to help the law enforcement agencies take the killer off the streets, and return peace and tranquility to the citizens of the Gem state.
When the murder total reaches five, the killer is eliminated by a local deputy in the town of Twin Falls.
Idaho's citizens are overjoyed with the official news that the horrific nightmare of killing has ended. Only Wes Oakley, the hunting and fishing guide and acclaimed amateur sleuth from Ketchum, believes the carnage is not over, and that it will soon start again.
Wes is excoriated by the media, the FBI, the Idaho State Police Department, the local police departments for his contrarian view of the deadly situation.
Is Wes right, or wrong, in his theory, and his personal belief, that a vicious, mastermind, partner of the now dead killer, Noah James, a man who has hated Wes for years, will now pick up the torch of murder and restart the demise of beautiful you ladies within Idaho's borders?
Will Wes be vindicated? Will a final end to the murderous situation be attained? Or, will the new serial killer be able to slip away and become a continuing thorn in Wes' side, and a threat for young women for years to come?
