"[The] best book on famine available--important theoretical perspective, good case-study material. "--Barbara D. Miller, Cornell University "Embodies the best tradition of social science....Empirical and rational, yet neither virtue is pushed to the point where human beings are forgotten."--The Economist "A truly seminal book....[Has] helped to shift the attention of policy-makers and international organizations away from excessive concentration on food production to broader issues of 'food security.'"--International Affairs

A classic on the poverty and famine relationship.

Considered a classic on the complex topic of poverty and its role in famine, the relationship is beautifully explained in this work. "Poverty and Famine" is one of the most well-known works of Dr Sen. This book is worth the time and effort, although a bit advanced for general readers. Atlantic Books delivered the book with utmost care and in pristine condition. The paper quality is a bit substandard, and it could have been a lot better; Oxford Publishers is hurting the brand image. Apart from that, everything is perfect. Happy reading!!
