Verily, I write this volume not from the cold tower of theory, but from the watchtower of a watchman who hath heard the cry of the nations and who hath seen the long shadow of want that hath fallen upon the children of men. I have walked among kings and among the lowliest of villages, among the embassies of the great and among the huts of the broken-hearted. I have seen, with mine own eyes, the laughter of the wealthy who knew not the LORD, and I have seen the tears of the saints who knew the LORD and yet who tasted dust and gravel for bread.
And I bear witness this day, before the throne and before the church, that the LORD hath set a controversy with poverty. He hath put on the apparel of vengeance for a cloke, and He hath risen against the spirit that hath robbed His people of their inheritance. For we serve no pauper-God. We serve the God of whom the cattle upon a thousand hills are His, and the silver and the gold, and the wells, and the harvests, and the streams of living water that issue out of His throne.
This volume is built upon a single confession: that poverty, in its every form - material, mental, moral, generational, civic, ecclesial, national - is satanic in origin, in operation, and in end. It is not the seal of holiness. It is not the badge of humility. It is not the price of grace. It is the burglary of devils against the saints of the Most High, and it shall end where every work of darkness shall end: consumed by fire forever.
We serve no pauper-God.
I owe much to the cloud of witnesses who have gone before in this contention. F.F. Bosworth taught the church that healing and provision are twin streams from the one fountain of the cross. William Marrion Branham testified that the same God who fed Israel in the wilderness is yet a provider unto His remnant. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome hath proclaimed, in season and out, that the saint of God is heir of the world. Uebert Angel hath unsealed, by revelation, the prophetic economy of heaven. Apostle Johnson Suleman hath stood as a watchman against every spirit of poverty that would crouch at the door of the African continent and the African diaspora. J. Preston Eby hath drawn back the veil upon the ages and the manifold purposes of God. The redemption is total, and want hath no warrant in the new covenant.
I was visited in 1993, when I was yet young in the ways of God, and the LORD shewed me that the gospel of the kingdom is the gospel of provision. I was visited again in 1999, when the LORD set my feet upon the watchtower of nations. I was visited again in 2019, when the LORD spake unto me concerning the long famine that hath wasted whole peoples and the breaking of that famine in this generation. These visitations are not the property of one man. They are the patrimony of the church.
Reader, take up this book not as a curiosity, but as a sword. Read it with thy Bible open, with thy pen ready, with thy knees bowed. For one hundred and fifty-three scriptures shall stand before thee, witnesses out of the law and the prophets, the gospels and the epistles, the apocalypse and the psalter - a net full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three, and the net shall not be broken. And one hundred and fifty-three reasons shall march behind them, ordered and arrayed, every reason a battalion against the lie that poverty pleaseth God.
If thou wilt give heed, thou shalt rise up from this volume a different man, a different woman, a different ministry, a different nation. The siege shall break. The doors of brass shall be cut in sunder. The bars of iron shall be broken. And thou shalt come forth, as did Joseph, out of the dungeon to the throne - and as did Benjamin, out of want to abundance - for the Joseph of the earth and the Benjamin of the earth are arising in this generation, and they shall feed many nations.
So speaketh the watchman.
So testifieth the witness.
So saith the prophet of the LORD.
