When a mother discovers that her son is addicted to heroin, she finds herself so attached to his recovery that it disrupts her entire life. Is there a way for her to release herself from his obsession or has his addiction become hers as well? She must travel a long and painful path of self-reflection in order to finally allow her son to help himself. ANNE JOBES has been raised in an abusive home, and has married a self-absorbed man. In her need to feel some control over her life she has become inter-reliant with every person she meets. When her son becomes addicted to heroin she attempts to recover for him - enabling his addiction, keeping secrets from her family members, and trying to control what is uncontrollable. This is a story of personal triumph and unconditional love. Anyone whose life has been affected by addiction or codependance will easily relate to Anne's story and find hope in the freedom of accepting her powerlessness.

Anne Jobes was born in January of 1955, and graduated high school in 1972. She went on to Point Park College where she majored in Computer Science. She has been working as an educator for almost thirty years. In addition she also works at a Financial Institution. Anne and her husband, Sam, have been married for thirty years, and have three children. She was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she currently still resides. This is her first novel.
