Lastly, I shall welcome constructive suggestions from readers.

Poonam Sethi, professor in botany (PBPBT) Guru Nanak College,Chennai, passed Msc. (1999) in first division with University Rank (University of Madras) and was also awarded the best out standing student of the year. She did Ph. D in Phychology and has to her credit a compound from seaweeds against Human Coxsackie virus. She has published over 15 research papers in reputed Indian and foreign research journals. Has experience of teaching Botany to the under graduate student and organised a workshop on screening and control of viral diseases. Endowed with passion for scientific writings has written several books for various competitive exams. This Manual has been written in a student friendly manner and presented in a simple and lucid style well supported with self explanatory illustrations, immensely useful for Botany students.
