In Wettbewerb stehen hier miteinander Nieten, Laten und SchweiBen. Das Nieten erfordert zunachst Herstellung der Nietlacher und Niete und dann die eigentliche Nietarbeit einer Nietkolonne von 3 . . . 5 Mann. Beim Laten, der clem SchweiBen verwandtesten Verbindungsart, wird zur Zusammenrugung der Metallstiicke das Lot, ein leicht schmelzbares MetaH ode'reine Legierung (ein Gemisch mehrerer Metalle), benutzt. Beide Verbindungsarten werden heute hei den meisten schweiBbaren Metallen mehr und mehr durch das SchweiBen verdrangt. Begriff desSchweiBens.
