About The Book

Pregnancy is one of the most important phases in a woman’s life where she needs to take care of not only herself but also the budding life within her. Nutan Pandit’s ‘Pregnancy’ aims to educate expecting and new mothers about the entire process of pregnancy and tries to uproot certain existing myths and fears associated with it. To explain the whole pregnancy period and process in simple terms, the book has been divided into 17 chapters that include different types of FAQs which are mostly dismissed by women as being silly. These questions cover a wide area starting from common misbelieves during pregnancy, which the author debunks, questions about breast-feeding, nutrition during and after pregnancy, labour, exercises and breathing during pregnancy, common problems during pregnancy, and even how to balance life properly post-pregnancy. The book also furnishes certain quick homemade remedies for all these and even for providing proper care to the newborn in post and neonatal conditions. Written in simple words, this book elaborates on every portion adequately, making it easier for the new and expecting mothers to take proper care of themselves and, thus, their children. She was moved to taking natural childbirth classes in the late 70's when she had a faith altering experience during a breathing exercise and realized that so called 'unconventional methods' are actually very apt for the Indian scenario. She uses her specialized knowledge in order to write numerous books on childbirth and childcare for inexperienced parents, including Smart Parenting: A Guide for Parents and Questions and Answers on Pregnancy.
