Complications can be more or less severe, can resolve spontaneously or require medical, interventional or surgical treatment and can be specific to the operation performed or general, but all are significant for the patient and are usually the most difficult part of the patient's management. Prompt and early diagnosis of complications and adequate and proper treatment are the cornerstones of the successful management of such complications and are all discussed in this reprint.
