This book is a hands-on legal guide for adult survivors of sexual abuse who want to sue their perpetrator(s) for money damages or try to get them criminally prosecuted. It is a handbook for maneuvering through our legal system. It will answer many of the questions survivors have asked. The author is attorney, Shari Karney, Esq., a survivor herself of sexual abuse and advocate for abuse survivor's rights. Shari changed the law in California to enable survivors to sue past the statute of limitations. After the law changed in California, Shari worked and helped seed change in 40 other states.

Shari Karney, Esq. a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and national spokesperson for adult survivors. Shari has appeared on Oprah, ABC Primetime, CNN, MSNBC, Fox, Court TV, and was the subject of the TV Movie, Shattered Trust: The Shari Karney Story, about her life overcoming childhood sexual abuse and then going on to change the law in California so that survivors have rights to hold their perpetrators responsible past the statute of limitations. Shari then went on and helped seed changes in the laws in 40 other states. Shari has been featured on a Lifetime Reality Show, "Twisted Fate" Shattered Truth.
