About the Author

DV Reddy

is Professor and Head, Department of Animal Nutrition at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Veterinary Education and Research, Puducherry U.T. Earlier he was at Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University (now the newly carved—Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University), Tirupati Campus and worked in AICRP on Pigs, College of Veterinary Science and Regional Agricultural Research Station. He did research work on LWP Pigs during MVSc and on buffaloes during PhD at CVSc, Tirupati (AP) and IVRI, Izatnagar (UP) under the supervision and guidance of Dr D Anjaneya Prasad and Dr UB Singh, respectively.

He secured ‘Junior Research Fellowship’ from Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India and ‘Senior Research Fellowship’ from ICAR, GOI. He was awarded ‘Andhra Bank Gold Medal’ for the year 1982 and ‘Dr ND Kehar Award’ (Gold Medal) for year 1990 for academic excellence in MVSc and PhD, respectively. Recognizing his contributions for the advancement of the profession, Dr Reddy was conferred with ‘Fellow Membership diploma (FUWAI)’ by United Writers’ Association, Chennai in 1998, Fellow of National Academy of Veterinary Sciences (India) (FNAVS) in 2006, Fellow of the Animal Nutrition Association (FANA) in 2006 and Achievement Award in 2014 by CLFMA of India.
