Atty. James Macalinao Violon is a multi-awarded lawyer, educator, scholar, and servant-leader whose work bridges the fields of law, education, and transformative leadership. He currently serves as the Chief University Legal Counsel and Executive Assistant IV to the President of Central Mindanao University (CMU), while also being a Named Partner at the Velos-Violon Law Office and VES Law Office. Atty. Violon holds a Doctor of Education in Leadership and Management (with Highest Academic Distinction) from Liceo de Cagayan University, a Juris Doctor from Bukidnon State University, a Master in History from MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (Cum Laude) from CMU. He is also a Licensed Professional Teacher and is currently completing his Master of Laws at the University of the Philippines Diliman. Throughout his career, he has held numerous faculty appointments at institutions such as Bukidnon State University-College of Law, Liceo de Cagayan University, and Philippine College Foundation, inspiring students to lead with critical thought and moral integrity. His academic contributions include peer-reviewed publications on human rights, education reform, gender leadership, and environmental justice, and he is the author of the groundbreaking book "Echoes of Injustices: A Study of Human Rights Violations Against Indigenous Peoples in Bukidnon." In the field of student and institutional leadership, Atty. Violon is a proven visionary. He served as President of the Law Students' Government, National Director for Research and Institutional Development of the Association of Law Students of the Philippines, and a former Board of Trustee Member and Faculty President at Pangantucan Bukidnon Community College. As the current University Legal Counsel of CMU, he has been instrumental in legal reforms, digital transformation, and policy-based leadership that safeguard academic integrity and institutional sovereignty. Atty. Violon has represented the Philippines in prestigious international conferences and competitions, including the Jean-Pictet Competition in Bali and the Bangkok International Student Conference.
