(Short Title: Professional Writing) Frank E. Keyes, Jr. wrote this book. He is a former senior editor of Northrop Grumman and published author of two other books and many essays. His book, often humorous--a rarity for a book on writing--covers primarily clarity and readability.

Frank E. Keyes, Jr. is currently the senior editor and chief instructor for Intelligence, Communications, and Engineering, Inc. and the CEO of K&K Training, LLC. He has been a technical writer and editor for the US Army Intelligence Center at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. He has taught effective writing to US Army lawyers and intelligence officers. He has run writing workshops at Connecticut's maximum security prison. He specializes in teaching effective/technical writing to corporate employees and in assessing writing; in 1994 he gave a presentation on writing assessment to college professors at an international convention hosted by the International Society for Exploring Teaching Alternatives. He received his BA in English Literature from Susquehanna University and his MFA (PhD equivalent) in Writing from the University of Massachusetts. Mr. Keyes is a combat veteran and was an infantryman with the 2/505th Parachute Infantry Battalion.
