Seit Ausgabe des Bandes "TURBO Pascal aus der Praxis" in der Teubner-Reihe MikroComputer-Praxis sind an die fünf Jahre vergangen. In dieser Zeit ist TURBO Pascal von der Version 3.0 bis zur Version 6.0 erheblich ausgeweitet und verbessert worden bis hin zum objektorientierten Programmieren (OOP). Die Vorlesungen für Informatikstudenten an der Fachhochschule München FHM sind diesem raschen Fortschritt natürlich angepa t worden. Das jetzt gedruckt vorliegende Skriptum ist Grundlage einer sechsstündigen Anfängervorlesung "Programmieren", die durch umfangreiche Praktika ergänzt wird. Einige kritische Bemerkungen aus früheren Rezensionen habe ich abge- wogen; so wurde die alte Darstellung nur auszugsweise übernommen, vielfach völlig überarbeitet, vor allem aber spürbar erweitert und zudem durch ein ausführliches Stichwortverzeichnis ergänzt. Etliche Kapitel sind völlig neu: Der Einstieg in die Systemprogrammierung wird durch einen entsprechenden Abschnitt erleichtert; die Erstellung von Units wird exemplarisch beschrieben; für praxisorientierte Programme gibt es Mausroutinen mit und ohne Grafik, auch eine erste Einführung in den Ma- schinencode und manch anderes. Unverändert ist aber das grundsätzliche Konzept: nicht systematische Dar- stellung des Anweisungsvorrats, sondern vielmehr exemplarische Einführung in die Sprache anhand vielfältiger und nichttrivialer Programme. - Während ersteres (also die strenge Systematik) viele gute Lehrbücher leisten, mu man sich Kenntnisse über Algorithmen und dgl. in verschiedenen Fachbüchern oft mühselig zusammensuchen. Es erscheint mir wichtig, auch in einer Ein- führungsveranstaltung praktische Programme zu zeigen und nicht nur Sprach- beschreibung zu treiben. Die Studenten sehen das ähnlich.
