Das vorliegende Buch ist eine der Programmierung informationslogischer Probleme gewidmete Monographie. Gegenwärtig werden elektronische Ziffernrechner in immer grö erem Ma e bei der Lösung informationslogischer Probleme in der Wirtschaft, Wissenschaft, Technik, Medizin und anderen Gebieten der menschlichen Tätigkeit eingesetzt. Hierzu zählen Probleme der Datenverarbeitung bei der materiell-techni- schen Versorgung, der Bearbeitung von Anfragen, der Suche von Angaben über Patente, der Suche von Bibliographien, der Bearbeitung von Krankengeschichten in Kliniken, der maschinellen medizinischen Diagnostik usw. Allen diesen Problemen ist gemeinsam, da eine Vielzahl von zu verarbeitenden Informationen vorhanden und der Verarbeitungs- proze dieser Informationen von logischem Charakter ist. Bei der Lösung ähnlicher Probleme werden verschiedene Methoden und Verfahren der Speicherplatzverteilung, die die Effektivität der Datensuche erhöhen, angewendet sowie verschiedene Methoden zur Darstellung der Such- und Datenverarbeitungspro- zesse selbst. Auf Grund dieser Zielstellung sind eine gl, lnze Reihe algorithmischer Spra- chen erarbeitet worden, d. h. formale Regeln, die es erlauben, den Lösungsproze der Probleme zu beschreiben, qhne die Geräte der Maschine genau zu kennen. Im vorliegenden Buch, das in erster Linie für jene bestimmt ist, die sich mit der An- wendung von elektronischen Ziffernrechenmaschinen zur Lösung informationslogischer Probleme beschäftigen, werden zwei Grundfragen behandelt: 1. eine algorithniische Sprache zur Beschreibung informationslogischer Probleme; 2. eine Reihe Verfahren und Methoden der Datenspeicherung und -verarbeitung, die eine schnelle Suche und Verarbeitung dieser Daten garantieren. Diese Verfahren bilden das Wesen der assoziativen Listenprogrammierung. Beide an- geführten Probleme gehören zu einem neuen, sich schnell entwickelnden Wissenschafts- gebiet.
