Their participation will build enthusiasm and commitment to the project. Next you and your team estimate how long each task will take and the risks you face. You will learn 5 estimating techniques and when to use each of them. You will also learn a 5 step risk management process starting with risk identification through qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, planning your risk responses and tracking risks. Scheduling - Next you learn to use the project management software tool: Microsoft Project(R)or the free version of Gantter(R). Our scheduling methodology lets you build and maintain professional schedules in ten minutes for small and medium projects. At each step, you see your schedule and can revise it to match what is in the book. Then you launch your case study project. Tracking - Your team starts their assignments and sends you status data each week. Using this data, you update your schedule and analyze the variances.You plan for corrective action to get the project back on schedule. You will learn variance analysis, earned value and how to make a status report to the executives. Reporting - Using the template we provide, you prepare your status report and a Powerpoint (or Keynote) presentation.
