Prometheus Bound is a play written by the ancient Greek playwright Aeschylus. The play tells the story of Prometheus, a Titan who defies the gods by giving fire to humanity and is punished by Zeus for his disobedience. Prometheus is chained to a rock and tormented by the gods, but he refuses to repent or beg for mercy. Instead, he remains defiant and proud, declaring that he would rather suffer than submit to the will of the gods. The play explores themes of rebellion, justice, and the struggle between individual freedom and divine authority.
