Inszenierung und Kommunikation von Wissen, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Dieser Arbeit geht die These voran, dass die Verzerrungen nicht nur erzählerische Funktion besitzen, um den narrativen Spannungsbogen des Films auszurichten, sondern vielmehr dem Zweck propagandistischer Manipulation und Mobilmachung zugunsten nationalsozialistischer Ideologie dienen. Gerade weil die Aufgabe der Propaganda darin bestand, subtil die Gesellschaft mit politischen Anschauungen zu unterwandern, wird auch die historische Figur eines Robert Kochs Teil der NS-Verblendung. Zumal der Film, als audiovisuelles Medium, enorme massenpsychologische Wirkungskraft besitzt, die optimal für politische Zwecke verwertet werden kann. Was hier wie das Plädoyer eines revolutionären Politikers anmutet, ist nicht weniger als die Abschlussrede Robert Kochs, die er, verkörpert von Emil Jannings, im 1939 erschienenen Film Robert Koch - Bekämpfer des Todes von Hans Steinhoff, an die junge Generation im Publikum adressiert. Aus historischer Sicht scheint es kaum überraschend, dass dem Bakteriologen Koch im Film das Attribut eines politischen Führers oktroyiert wird. Obwohl sich der Film - der am 26. September 1939 im Berliner Ufa-Palast am Zoo uraufgeführt und damit 25 Tage nach dem Überfall auf Polen datiert - vordergründig als Filmbiographie (Biopic) präsentiert, mit dem Ziel die Entdeckung des Tuberkelbazillus durch Robert Koch filmisch zu inszenieren, zwingt eine tiefere Analyse zur Annahme, dass hier weitaus mehr politisches Kalkül verborgen liegt, als es eine oberflächliche Sichtung des Films verraten lässt. Es sind besonders biografische und wissenschaftliche Verzerrungen im Film, die hier in den Blick geraten.
