Inhaltsangabe: Gang der Untersuchung: Im Rahmen der vorliegenden Arbeit verfolge ich das Ziel, einerseits den Nachweis der subjektiven Bedrohlichkeiten in der Prostitution zu erbringen, als auch die begrenzten Möglichkeiten von Sozialarbeit mit dieser Zielgruppe aufzuzeigen. Ins Besondere ist mir dabei allerdings von Bedeutung, den theoretischen Ansatz zu erbringen, da Prostitution subjektiv emanzipatorische und berufliche Formen der Selbstverwirklichung ermöglicht bzw. notwendig macht. Da es sich hierbei also vor allem um frauenspezifische Zusammenhänge handelt, habe ich mich in meiner Arbeit hauptsächlich auf die Darstellung weiblicher Prostitution beschränkt und Strukturen der männlichen Prostitution nur in vergleichender Weise dargestellt. Ferner bin ich in dem beschriebenen Rahmen nicht auf Formen der Prostitution eingegangen, die durch Gewalt bestimmt sind, da es, vor dem Hintergund der Anerkennung von Prostitution als Beruf, hier nicht um diejenigen gehen kann, die zwangsweise der Prostitution zugeführt wurden. Ich beginne meine Ausführungen mit einem groben Überblick über die Entstehungsgeschichte der Prostitution. Um die Prostitution weder als persönliche "Neigung", noch als "Sünde" zu interpretieren, ist es wichtig einen Blick auf die historische Entwicklung der Prostitution zu richten. Dabei wird der Zusammenhang von Prostitution und Gesellschaft deutlich, was wiederum darauf hinweist, da Prostitution veränderbar ist, wie die Gesellschaftsformen auch. In Kapitel 2 wende ich mich den heutigen Zusammenhängen zu. Ich begebe mich dabei auf die Suche nach gemeinsamen Rahmenbedingungen von Prostituierten und Nichtprostituierten, um durch das Begreifen struktureller Gemeinsamkeiten die gesellschaftliche Spaltung überwinden zu können. Kapitel 3 dient einer detaillierten Darstellung der Lebens- und Arbeitsbedingungen von Prostituierten, um Ansatzpunkte für konkrete Verbesserungen aufzuzeigen.
