Protecting Buddhist Heritage of Asia: Promoting Better Communication Among Buddhist Communities takes readers on a fascinating journey through the influence of Buddhism across the continent—from the peaceful missions of Emperor Ashoka to the challenges Buddhist communities face today. It emphasizes how Buddhist principles of communication, community efforts, and spiritual values empower and reinforce societies from within. Dr. Seneviratne has blended decades of fieldwork and media experience to explore how Buddhism shapes cultures across countries such as Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam. This volume offers an engaging narrative of how Indic Buddhism has survived,

Endorsements

This book is very comprehensive and surveys the development trends, challenges and paradoxes facing Buddhism in the South and Southeast region of Asia. The communication models rooted in mindfulness and Buddhist traditions discussed, provide an excellent exploration of Buddhist communication. The chapters on Southeast Asian countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Laos and Thailand are particularly eye-opening. I plan to use parts of this book in my Ph.D. course on world wisdom and traditions for communication.
