Der Verlauf gliedert sich in mehrere Abschnitte, beginnend mit einer Einführung in das Thema Psychosomatik und dessen historische Entwicklung. Dabei wird aufgezeigt, wie sich die Bedeutung der Psychosomatik vom 19. bis ins 21. Jahrhundert kontinuierlich entwickelt hat. Im weiteren Verlauf werden die verschiedenen psychosomatischen Erklärungsmodelle detailliert vorgestellt. Hierbei werden insbesondere das Konfliktmodell, das Lernmodell, das Stressmodell, das Defizitmodell und das Traumamodell analysiert. Diese Modelle bieten unterschiedliche Perspektiven auf die Entstehung und Entwicklung psychosomatischer Störungen. Ein besonderes Augenmerk wird auf die Konversionsstörung gelegt, welche als eines der zentralen Krankheitsbilder der Psychosomatik betrachtet wird. Die Anwendung der psychosomatischen Erklärungsmodelle auf die Konversionsstörung ermöglicht es, die Vielschichtigkeit dieses Phänomens besser zu verstehen und mögliche Ansatzpunkte für die Behandlung zu identifizieren. Im Anschluss werden die Unterschiede zwischen den verschiedenen psychosomatischen Erklärungsmodellen herausgearbeitet. Dies ermöglicht einen umfassenden Vergleich der theoretischen Ansätze und ihrer praktischen Anwendbarkeit. Abschlie end wird ein Fazit gezogen, das die zentrale Forschungsfrage dieser Arbeit reflektiert: "Welche Auswirkungen haben psychosomatische Erklärungsmodelle auf die Behandlung einer Konversionsstörung?" Dabei werden die Erkenntnisse zusammengefasst und mögliche Implikationen für die klinische Praxis sowie zukünftige Forschungsdiskurse diskutiert.
