About the Author

Suresh Chandra is Director of the School of Physical Sciences, S.R.T.M. University, Nanded (Maharashtra). He obtained his M.Sc. (Physics) and Ph.D. from Meerut University (now called, Ch. Charan Singh University), Meerut. He is Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society (London), Fellow of the Maharashtra Academy of Sciences (Pune), Associate Member of the Third World Academy of Sciences (Italy), Fellow of Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (Germany), Member of International Astronomical Union and Member of several other national academic bodies. He visited Germany as Alexander von Humboldt Fellow and then was in Germany as the Visiting Scientist. Later on he visited Germany several times under scientific exchange programme. He visited U.S.S.R. (now called, Russia) as the Guest of the U.S.S.R. Academy of Sciences. He has published 115 research papers in the journals of international repute and has written 7 books, 29 scientific articles and 8 articles pertaining to Higher Education. He has participated in 62 international/ national conferences. He has completed successfully 7 research projects funded by various agencies in India and two are in progress. Four students have been awarded Ph.D. degree under his supervision. He is member of several academic bodies in various universities. Fields of his interest are Astrophysics, Theoretical Physics and Computational Physics.
