JOSÉ MICAELSON LACERDA MORAIS é professor associado do Departamento de Economia da Universidade Regional do Cariri - URCA, desde 1995. Graduado em Ciências Econômicas pela mesma Instituição, mestre em Engenharia de Produção, pela UFPB, doutor em Economia da Indústria e da Tecnologia, pela UFRJ, e pós-doutor em Desenvolvimento Econômico pelo Centro de Estudos do Desenvolvimento Econômico - CEDE, da Unicamp.
