Gilles Deleuze faisait l'hypoth�se que l'invisible de la Seconde Guerre mondiale marquait la transition du classicisme � la modernit� cin�matographique; or les images de la guerre tourn�es pendant les combats constituent aussi une matrice th�matique et formelle pour le cin�ma moderne.

Merten, Dorian: - Dorian Merten est chercheur en études cinématographiques à l'Université de Strasbourg. Ses thèmes de recherche privilégiés sont l'esthétique des cinémas documentaires, la représentation de l'Histoire par les images, la migration des images et les cinémas modernes européens. Il prépare actuellement une thèse sur l'oeuvre du cinéaste polonais Krzysztof Kieślowski.
