Urn diese Kontroversen ausfUhr- lich zu erortern und nach Moglichkeit einen Konsens zu erreichen, fUhrte der AusschuB Onkologie des Klinikums- vorstandes der Universitat Heidelberg am 9. und 10. De- zember 1983 in der Akademie der Wissenschaften einen Workshop durch uber die "Randomisation und Aufk1a- rung bei klinischen Therapiestudien in der Onkologie". 6 Juristen, 27 Mediziner und 3 wissenschaftliche Mitarbei- ter von pharmazeutischen Firmen aus Frankfurt, Freiburg, Gottingen, Munster, Augsburg, Kaiserlautern und Heidel- berg waren Teilnehmer. Nach einleitenden Referaten wur- den die medizinischen und juristischen Gesichtspunkte diskutiert. Die mit onkologischen Fragestellungen befaB- ten Mediziner begriiBten die Auseinandersetzung mit den Juristen, urn uber die Darlegung eigener Standpunkte hin- aus zu einer Annaherung zu kommen. Diese fand ihren Ausdruck in "Empfehlungen zur Randomisation und Auf- klarung bei Therapiestudien in der Onkologie", die uber- einstimmend gebilligt wurden. In monographischer Form werden die Referate und die Empfehlungen einem groBe- ren Kreis von interessierten Juristen und Medizinern vor- gestellt.
