Das vorliegende Buch ist der Versuch, hier eine Verbindung zu schaffen und die wichtigsten Probleme der Gesamtsicherheit darzustellen. 1m Interesse der Ktirze und der Lesbarkeit wurde vieles an nicht unbedingt erforderlichen Details fortgelassen; ich hoffe, daB die wichtigen Dinge und Grundgedanken, die mir aus meiner Tatigkeit in der Reaktorsicherheitskommission bedeutsam erscheinen, urn so klarer hervortreten. Der Spezialist sollte nicht erwarten, flir sein ureigenes Gebiet viel Neues zu finden; aber tiber Grundsatzfragen, Systeme anderer Hersteller, die Gesamtbewertung und insbeson- dere die Einbettung seiner Arbeit in die benachbarten Gebiete wird er hoffentlich etwas lernen. Die Literaturangaben (auch hier war durch die Fiille des Stoffs eine Be- grenzung notwendig) sind so ausgewiihlt, daB ein tieferes Eindringen ohne Schwierig- keiten moglich sein sollte, wenn man das hier Dargestellte verstanden hat. Das Buch beschriinkt sich inhaltlich auf die Anlagentechnik und schlief, t die Behand- lung von Freisetzungsmechanismen, Ausbreitung in der Umgebung, Dosisberechnung und Dosis-Wirkungsbeziehungen aus.
