He is a member of Indian Economic Association and Association of Economists of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. He has authored 11 books including Macroeconomic Theory and Public Finance, published by PHI Learning. He is the recipient of the Best Teacher Award in Economics in Tamil Nadu by Malcolm & Elizabeth Adhiseshiah Trust, Chennai, for 2010–2011.
