Dr. Deepak Bajaj is presently a Professor and the Director and Head of the Institution at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) School of Built Environment at Amity University, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. He completed his Bachelor of Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology, India and his Master of Construction Management from the University of New South Wales, Australia. He also holds a PhD from the University of Technology Sydney, Australia. Dr. Bajaj has a diverse technical, business and research background and extensive experience in consulting, training and academia. He is also passionate about knowledge sharing and has spent the last 35 years working in industry and higher education in the built environment sector. He has previously served as an adjunct professor at RICS School of Built Environment and during his teaching tenure since 2016, he has mentored and supervised several PhD scholars and master's degree students. He has also been an adjunct professor at the SKEMA Business School in France and the Chongqing Jianzhu College in Chongqing, China. Before joining the RICS School of Built Environment, Dr. Bajaj worked in different roles in the project management, construction, real estate and facility management sectors and has varied industry experience in diverse professional capacities at national and international organizations. He has been a fellow of RICS for the past 12 years and he also chairs the RICS assessment panel in India and the United Kingdom. Dr. Bajaj has been honoured with the 'Australian Institute of Building National Excellence Award' in 1999 in Construction Management and the 'Facility Management Australia National Excellence Award' for Knowledge Achievement in Risk Management in 2003. He has authored numerous research publications and has been the guest editor and peer reviewer for many journals.
