Die zunehmende Automatisierung in der Fertigungstechnik hat in den letzten Jahren zu immer umfangreicheren Problems tel- lungen fUr die Steuerungstechnik gefUhrt. Die steigende Kom- plexitat der Werkzeugmaschinen und Maschinenfunktionen, die Verwirklichung automatischer Fertigungsablaufe und die Inte- gration von Werkzeug- und WerkstUckwechselsystemen in die Fertigungsanlagen sind nur wenige Beispiele hierzu. Ein Uber- wiegender Teil der Steuerungsaufgaben fallt dabei in den Be- reich der Funktionssteuerung, wo zur Erzielung bestimmter Maschinenfunktionen entsprechend den vom Bedienpult oder einer Ubergeordneten Steuerung vorgegebenen Eingabesignalen die Stellsignale fUr die Maschine gebildet werden. Als maschinennahe Steuerung ist die Funktionssteuerung in al- len Details auf die zu steuernde Fertigungsanlage abzustimmen und somit stark anlagenspezifisch. Unterschiedliche Anlagen- konfigurationen, die anwendungsspezifische Realisierung von Maschinenfunktionen und nicht zuletzt besondere Anforderungen und WUnsche des Kunden machen spezielle Problemlosungen er- forderlich. Eine ratione lIe Projektierung und AusfUhrung von Funktionssteuerungen wird dadurch erheblich erschwert. Der verstarkte Einsatz speicherprogrammierter Steuerungen /1/ kommt solchen Rationalisierungsbestrebungen durch die Ver- wendung standardisierter Hardware, sowie durch die groBere Flexibilitat und Ailderbarkeit entgegen. Ein hoher und standig wachsender Anteil der personellen Kosten, der gleichzeitige Mangel an qualifiziertem Personal und die Forderung nach kUr- zeren Entwicklungszeiten verlangen aber vor allem die Ein- fUhrung neuer Problemlosungen im Entwurfs- und Projektierungs- bereich. Als geeignetes Hilfsmittel bietet sich der Einsatz der elektronischen Datenverarbeitung zum rechnerunterstUtz- ten Entwurf (CAD) an, der in den letzten Jahren fUr die unterschiedlichsten Einsatzgebiete stark an Bedeutung ge- wonnen hat /2/.
