About The Book

Die 19. Jahrestagung der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Plastische und Wiederherstellungschirurgie fand vom 29. bis 31. Oktober 1981 in Würzburg statt. Sie stand unter dem Leitthema "Regionale plasti- sche und rekonstruktive Chirurgie im Kindesalter". Untertitel wa- ren Fehlbildungen, Schädigungen des Nervus facialis, die Trauma- tologie sowie angeborene und in der Kindheit entstandene Tumore. Neben den Vorträgen zum Leitthema wurden auch freie Vorträge gehalten, die ebenfalls in diesem Band abgedruckt sind. Es zeigte sich, da der Rahmen der regionalen plastischen und rekonstruktiven Chirurgie im Kindesalter so weit gespannt ist, da ganz bewu t eine Einschränkung der Thematik auf die erwähnten Untertitel vorgenommen werden mu te. So wurden unter anderen ausgeklammert die Ohrfehlbildungen, die Lippen-Kiefer-Gaumen- spalten, die Fehlbildungen und angeborenen Verbildungen der Gliedma en, um nur einige Beispiele zu nennen. Trotz dieser Be- schränkung war die Thematik ausgewogen und es sind alle in der Gesellschaft vereinigten Fachgebiete zu Wort gekommen. Die inter- disziplinäre Diskussion hat sich wieder als äu erst fruchtbar erwie- sen. Auch im Kindesalter ist es Aufgabe der regionalen plastischen und wiederherstellenden Chirurgie, nicht nur das Erscheinungsbild, also die Ästhetik zu erhalten oder wiederherzustellen, sondern auch die Funktion zu berücksichtigen, sie zu erhalten, und wenn sie ge- stört ist, sie zu verbessern. Allen Referenten, Vortragenden und Mitautoren sowie Diskus- sionsrednern möchten wir für ihre Beiträge nochmals danken, denn wir sind durch eine Fülle von Informationen, Erkenntnissen und Anregungen bereichert worden, die nun in diesem Kongre band zusammengestellt wurden.
