Dois dos temas cruciais para o fato de eles terem tantos resultados em condições tão desfavoráveis são: a visão de mundo que eles tinham e o comportamento deles com relação ao que a fé exigia dos mesmos.
O poder que residia na fé deles era mais profundo do que simplesmente acreditar que algo era possível. O livro traz de forma clara o aspecto real da fé que se estendia dos milagres e maravilhas ao martírio em função do evangelho de Cristo.
As manifestações do Espírito Santo na atualidade foram resumidas a barulho e frenesi espiritual num sentido completamente alheio à proposta original contida nas escrituras. No livro, há uma abordagem especial a respeito do Espírito Santo, sua função e o significado dos sinais que se sucederam à sua descida no Dia de Pentecostes.
