Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2005 im Fachbereich Geowissenschaften / Geographie - Regionalgeographie, Note: 1,7, Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Veranstaltung: Planungsinstrumente & Projektpraxis (PIPP), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Im südlichen Teil des Ruhrgebiets sind der Rückzug der Montanindustrie und die daraus resultierende Umstrukturierung dieser Standorte grö tenteils abgeschlossen. Etwas anders stellt sich die Lage in der (problematischen) Emscher Zone dar, so dass auch die Stadt Herten mit rund 67.000 Einwohnern diesen Prozess in der Zukunft bewältigen muss. Mit der Stilllegung des Bergwerks Ewald mit den Schachtanlagen 1/2/7 im Süden der Stadt Herten zum 30. April 2000 endet eine fast 130jährige Bergbautradition und die Stadt verliert ihren grö ten Arbeitgeber. Der Rückzug des Bergbaus, der viele Jahrzehnte die Entwicklung Hertens entscheidend prägte, steht die Stadt nunmehr vor der Herausforderung, neue wirtschaftliche Entwicklungsimpulse zu schaffen. Die Schlie ung einer der produktivsten Zechen des Ruhrgebiets mit ehemals rund 5.000 Bergleuten vor den Toren des südlichen Stadtgebietes soll aber auch ein Neubeginn und eine Zukunftschance für die Stadt und das gesamte Ruhrgebiet bedeuten: Ziel ist es, einen Standtort zu schaffen, der die Ansiedlung von dienstleistungsorientierten, gewerblichen sowie industriellen Unternehmen ermöglicht und auf diese Weise mindestens 1.000 Arbeitsplätze am Standort entstehen lässt. Um die städtebaulichen Rahmenbedingungen für die künftige Nutzung zu präzisieren, wurde vom 19. bis 25. Januar 2002 eine "Internationale Entwurfswerkstatt Projekt - Ewald" in der ehemaligen Schwarzkaue der Zeche durchgeführt. Insgesamt legten an dieser offen gehaltener Veranstaltung, die sich zahlreicher interessierter Besucher erfreute, vier internationale Planungsteams ihre Gestaltungsideen vor. Das Ergebnis dieser einwöchigen Entwurfswerkstatt und somit die Grundlage für die weiteren Planungen im Rahmen dieses Projektes war die Konzeption "Land
