Die vorliegende Arbeit befasst sich mit der Entwicklung der Rhetorik von der Zeit der gro en griechischen Rhetoriker bis heute. Zunächst wird sich mit der griechischen Rhetorik im geschichtlichen Verlauf von Korax bis Aristoteles beschäftigt. Die Arbeit schneidet dabei auch das Thema der "Sophisten" und die Unterscheidung zwischen Überredung und Überzeugung an. Im zweiten Teil geht die Hausarbeit auf die aktuelle Nutzung der Rhetorik in Politik und Medien, sowie beispielhaft auf andere Möglichkeiten der (Meinungs-)Beeinflussung ein. Hier wird unter anderem Bildmanipulation (am Beispiel von "Varoufake" und einem Bild aus einem Kriegsgebiet), aber auch Beeinflussung/Lenkung der öffentlichen Aufmerksamkeit durch Selektion der Tagesnachrichten thematisiert. Im letzten Abschnitt befasst sich die Arbeit mit der Entwicklung der Alltagskommunikation im 21. Jahrhundert und den Auswirkungen von Kurznachrichten und Social Media Netzwerken auf das sprachliche Niveau von Kindern und Jugendlichen.
