Rinconete And Cortadillo is a novel written by the renowned Spanish author, Miguel de Cervantes, and was first published in 1613. The story is set in Seville, Spain, and follows the lives of two young men, Rinconete and Cortadillo, who meet each other by chance and become fast friends. They are both poor and come from different backgrounds, but they share a common goal of making a living in the city.The novel is a satirical portrayal of the criminal underworld of Seville, and the two protagonists find themselves caught up in a world of thieves, con artists, and prostitutes. They are taken under the wing of a gang of thieves, led by the charismatic Monipodio, who teaches them the tricks of the trade and introduces them to the other members of his gang.As Rinconete and Cortadillo become more deeply involved in the criminal activities of the gang, they begin to question their own morals and values. They are forced to confront the harsh realities of life in Seville and the consequences of their actions.The novel is a commentary on the social and economic conditions of Spain in the 16th century, and Cervantes uses humor and irony to expose the corruption and hypocrisy of the ruling classes. Rinconete And Cortadillo is a classic work of Spanish literature and is widely regarded as one of Cervantes' most important works.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
