About The Author

Champat Rai Jain (1867–1942) was a prominent Digambara Jain scholar, barrister, orator, and writer from Delhi. Educated in England, he practised law but became known for his works on Jain philosophy and comparative religion. From the 1910s to 1930s, he defended Jainism against colonial-era Christian critiques, contrasting it with Christianity, and explained it using modern psychology and science. Founder of the Akhil Bharatvarsiya Digambara Jain Parisad (1923), he worked to unite Digambara communities and promote reforms. He also established the Jaina Mission in London and lectured widely.
