A life-long adventurer, Marshal Hunter gives depth to his sci-fi/fantasy stories and characters with experiences garnered on his adventures. Four years in the U.S. Navy, a commercial diver, living in a tent for months on an archaeological dig and over twenty years of experience in historical research and reenactment, are but part of an exciting background he brings to his writing. His degree in sculpture and metal arts, and over a decade of professional technical theater provide diverse practical skills which he draws upon to further deepen his characters and stories. Focused on The Rise of Æster since 2007, Marshal created an entirely new fictional world from whole cloth. From his new world comes The Rise of Æster Steampunk Live Action Roleplaying Game released in 2010, numerous short stories, and an upcoming novel. Marshal continues to follow his passion for expanding The Rise of Æster world as well as sculpture, metal arts and the study of historical sword technique from his home in Seattle, Washington.
