Als Basis werden alle Grundlagen zu einem Qualitätsmanagementsystem (QMS) ausführlich behandelt. Ziel der Arbeit ist die Erstellung einer Roadmap zur Einführung eines QMS nach ISO 9001. Die Roadmap soll dabei alle umzusetzenden Arbeitspakete beinhalten. Konkret sind dabei die folgenden Fragen zu beantworten: Welche Anforderungen stellt die ISO 9001 an Unternehmen? Was hat die HWS diesbezüglich bereits umgesetzt? Welche Ziellücken bestehen zur Norm? Welche Umsetzungsmöglichkeiten bestehen bei der HWS? In welchen Schritten sind die Aufgaben zu realisieren? Mit welchen zeitlichen Aufwendungen ist zu rechnen? Im folgenden Kapitel wird zunächst die Unternehmensstruktur vorgestellt. Um das Wesen des QMS vollumfänglich zu verstehen, werden in Kapitel drei alle Grundlagen erläutert. Zur Einordnung folgt zunächst ein Überblick über verschiedene Managementsysteme. Darauf aufbauend werden relevante Begriffe definiert. Ab Gliederungspunkt 3.3 wird detailliert auf das QMS nach ISO 9001 eingegangen. Als Einstieg sind die Vor- und Nachteile für Unternehmen anhand einer Studie erläutert. Anschlie end werden alle zur ISO 9001 zugehörigen Normen zusammenhängend dargestellt. Um die später beschriebenen Anforderungen der Norm zu verstehen, werden im Grundlagenteil die Grundsätze des Qualitätsmanagements, der prozessorientierte Ansatz sowie der PDCY-Zyklus beschrieben. Damit die Einführung strukturiert geplant werden kann, wird in Kapitel vier eine geeignete Vorgehensweise präsentiert. Das fünfte Kapitel stellt den Hauptteil dieser Arbeit dar.
