When financial investigator Tony Trueblé is hired to interview key players in a major lawsuit against a venture capitalist group, his world is turned upside down as he is dragged through a seedy underworld of corruption, dishonesty, and murder. His life and his freedom are put on the line, and he's tasked not only to get the job done, but to do so without giving in to his insatiable cravings for vodka, weed, and causal, meaningless sex. Sensational, satirical, and sometimes absurd, Romancing the Absurd is a literary murder mystery full of intrigue, suspense, and absurdist, cut-throat behavior. Though nine people die under very bizarre circumstances and a handful of people get screwed (in more than one way), the story takes humorous twists and turns that are sure to leave you laughing and shaking your head in disbelief over the manipulative maneuvers and murderous tactics some folks are willing to use to get ahead in this world. Throughout the story, however, there runs an undercurrent of reflection, hope, and redemption. In their own individual ways, the characters strive to right their wrongs and improve themselves through various pursuits-the writing of this book being one of those pursuits. For Tony, redemption came through writing. He penned this reinvented-autobiographical piece while studying writing at the college level, an experience he also recounts. A thought-provoking tour de force from start to end, Romancing the Absurd is the final result of Tony's studies, hard work, and shocking struggles with himself, others, and the universe at large. The book also includes an Appendix containing excerpts from a non-fiction book in process, An Owner's Manual on How to Evolve Your Consciousness. In addition, you as a reader of this book can participate in the Reader Participant Marketing Plan where you can earn a share in 50% of the monthly cash receipts from sales of the novel. Once you purchase the book, you can potentially earn thousands of dollars, depending on the efforts you put forth.

Author's Biography After joining the Army, he was assigned to the Military Advisory Group to Laos and became involved in the secret war in Laos. His outfit used the CIA's Air America to drop supplies and ammunition to the forces fighting the communists in Laos. He had a top secret clearance and was knowledgeable about all the intimate details of this secret war, which both Presidents Johnson and Kennedy denied existed. He attended George Washington University, however, when the GI bill came through, he moved to California to attend college at Cal-State Long Beach, graduating with a BS degree in accounting. He worked for Price Waterhouse, but dropped out in early 1971. He experimented with LSD. He lived in the woods in Big Sur, then traveled to Europe landing on the Island of Ibiza where he spent a great deal of time doing the sex, drugs and rock and roll thing. His world travels led him to taking the chicken buses through Central America, ultimately spending thirty days in the Centro de Rehabilitation (the local prison) for smoking pot on the beach on San Andres, Island In the mid-seventies, he sat in front of the Mormon Tabernacle in West LA, stoned on LSD, where he experienced that he was in fact a businessman. He went to work for a hospital financial consulting firm and finally started his own business. His business grew to the point that after ten years he was able to sell the firm to a group of venture capitalists, although he had to sue them before cashing out with $4,000,000 and retiring at 55. He went back to college, played on the golf team, studied music, linguistics, and English. He joined the debate team. He majored in English with an emphasis in creative writing. He wrote numerous short stories, finally completing a mystery novel where he metaphorically murdered the venture capitalists that he had to sue to get his money. He still lives in Chico where he writes, plays golf, and spends a great amount of time doing independent studying. He is a spiritually seeking agnostic and explores the possibilities that might exist through Chico's Church of Religious Science and their Center for Spiritual Living. He is currently during research and writing a non-fiction book on how to consciously evolve one's own consciousness. He has learned over the years is that there is a fine line between fiction and nonfiction. So keep in mind that the above might be nothing other than re-invented reality. Then again . . .
