This is the second volume in a Series entitled "Journeys in Consciousness," a compilation of the extensive writings and transcriptions from the life of Charles DeTurk. They are all brought up-to-date and placed in a contemporary context with extensive commentary. In the process of sharing these writings we have a record of how a single individual, driven by curiosity, grows in understanding the wisdom and functioning of life and the universe of experience. "Roots of Metaphysics and Quantum Physics" starts with what began as a single short essay on metaphysics and quantum physics that quickly grew into an eight part series. These are ideas that are coming more and more to the fore in our lives and consciousness as increasing numbers of people become aware, through the discoveries of science, the veracity of ancient spiritual truths. What's more, this book, not only examines a whole host of ideas, but it delves into explaining how they specifically affect our individual lives in very profound ways. There's an interview that Charles conducts with Major Domo, one of the many expressions of himself. The reader gets many glimpses into the thinking that transpires as Charles, and others, investigate how to incorporate new ideas into processes that integrate with old systems. There is a revealing chapter from Charles' mother, Rev. Bette DeTurk, that was discovered after her passing. Then there are the first five parts of a 27-part course on the second chapter of Deepak Chopra's book, "Creating Affluence." This is followed by a 3-part presentation in response to the events of 911. Finally the book wraps up with several topic-specific chapters before concluding with a final take on the book's title. And it all concludes with an "aha" that actually occurred as the final paragraphs were being written. Charles presents his information in a conversational way as though he was right there next to the reader. And he does it all with an understandable ease that will give one new insights about their life and ways to improve it. What he has to share is a comfortable mix of ageless metaphysics, cutting edge quantum physics, and practical ways of applying these engagingly compatible principles to one's own life. That book will be his attempt to take everything that he has learned and explain how to use these insights in solving a wide range of challenges, all the way from individual on-on-one relationship issues to topics like energy, housing, healthcare, global relations, practical applications of spiritual truths, peace, education, environmental relations, and the big one - the world economy. Charles DeTurk is a lifelong Synergeticist, one who is interested in anything and everything and who endeavors to figure out how it all fits together. Born in Oklahoma, over the years he has lived in various states from coast to coast. Charles' first published book, "What We Believe That Makes Us Different," delves into the spiritual belief system that evolved through the early years of his life amidst a regular bombardment of more orthodox viewpoints that surrounded him. He finally, at the age of 50, pronounced the ten belief statements that comprise the content of this book. Charles has several other books that are nearing completion and a large volume entitled, "Millennium Paradigm," that is due for completion next year. Over the years, Charles has discovered potential solutions to many issues and experiences in the world that are on the cutting edge of a whole new perspective upon human experience.
