Das Buch ist eine äu erst persönlich gehaltene Lebensdarstellung, beschreibt aber auch Rosa Luxemburgs politische Entwicklung und ihren Bruch mit der deutschen Sozialdemokratie. Kautsky stellt angesichts der damals fortschreitenden Stalinisierung der kommunistischen Bewegung jedoch die provokative Frage nach Luxemburgs parteipolitischer Heimat: Wo würde Rosa heute stehen, wenn sie noch lebte?

Günter Regneri wurde 1963 in Wuppertal geboren. Er ist Autor von Biografien über den Sozialmediziner Salomon Neumann (1819-1908), Luise Kautsky (1864-1944) und Herbert Weichmann (1896-1983). In unserem Verlag gab er 2005 die Textsammlung Rosa Luxemburg - Schriften und Reden auf CD heraus, die bis heute umfangreichste elektronische Ressource ihrer politischen Schriften. Zudem verantwortet er die Neuherausgabe historischer Texte von Emil Lederer, Karl Kautsky, Luise Kautsky, Salomon Neumann, Walter Benjamin, Kurt Löwenstein und Otto Rühle.
