One day, while playing in the garden with their grandmother, two sisters Sian and Lana, and their cousin Natasha are told the most wonderful story about a young girl called Rose Iris.
When Rose Iris is confronted by a nasty bully she falls into a river and wakes up in the most magical and mysterious place, surrounded by unusual creatures. These creatures are called mud fairies and, with the help of her new-found friends, Rose Iris must adventure to find the three Enchanted Stones - the Black Stone, the Hollow Stone and the Marble Stone - in order to return to her world and back to her loving parents. Join Rose Iris on her adventure as she meets new friends and discovers some characters who are not-so-friendly. Her determination to return home will be tested, but Rose Iris will be helped by the mud fairies along the way.
Rose Iris and the Enchanted Stones is a tale of magic, adventure and the power of friendship. It is a story of sacrifice and love.

Hopkins, Barbara: - Barbara Hopkins was born in Herefordshire, during the Second World War. After the war, her family moved to Middlesex. Her childhood was short. By the age of ten she was the eldest of six children and much of her time was spent doing housework and taking care of her younger siblings. In her limited spare time she loved drawing and writing, and inventing stories of enchanted worlds, and the characters who inhabited them. She left Longford Girl's School at fourteen and worked on a farm until she was fifteen and old enough to legally work. She was a frequent visitor to her local library and her fascination with fairies and mysterious, magical places continued. Her dream is that all children will get great pleasure from her tales of magic and parallel worlds, and enjoy the illustrations of the characters she has created.
