Rosie the Rhino and her friends live on a game reserve in Botswana, Africa. The other rhinos in her herd say that it's silly she's friends with animals other than rhinos, but she pays them no mind-in fact, her best friends are giraffes, a monkey, and a mouse.


One day Rosie is walking back to her herd after a long day of playing with her four friends, only to discover the rhinos had been captured by poachers! Poindexter, Gwendolyn: - Gwendolyn Poindexter is a retired attorney who lives with her husband in a hillside community in Los Angeles, California. She was inspired to write her first children's book, Zoe the Short-Necked Giraffe, by the stories she and her husband would tell their two (then) young sons at dinner time. Rosie the Rhino and the Great Escape is a sequel of sorts, as it includes characters from Zoe-as well as a few new animals-to tell a tale of friendship and the value of having a diverse group of friends.

Rees, Pat: - Pat Rees is an artist and occasional book illustrator who lives in Altadena, California. Since retiring from web design, she spends her time working in her backyard art studio and in her vegetable garden. Her art is online at www.patriciarees.com.
