What happens when three friends from three very different backgrounds decide to room together during their first year of university? All of a sudden it seemed as if trouble was waiting for them around every corner: problems at work, illicit relationships, lies and deceptions, almost being lured into a sleazy, demeaning job, their friendships tried and tested: all this while studying for exams. Could it get any worse? But, after living through all manners of unpleasant experiences, the end reveals a secret that Ruth was not expecting.

Ruth Leaves Home is a compassionate story of three close friends; it carries a warning in part, but couched within the narrative is a lesson: everything bears up on a foundation of love, sound values and friendship.
