Um dies zu erforschen, wird Fachliteratur zu den einzelnen Aspekten der Fragestellung herangezogen und theoretisch geprüft. Dabei sollen zunächst die Funktion und Aufgaben der Schulsozialarbeit betrachtet und Kinder und Jugendliche als Zielgruppe genauer in den Blick genommen werden, um sich dem Thema einerseits aus entwicklungspsychologischer Sicht zu nähern, andererseits, um anhand dieser Aspekte zu prüfen, welche Faktoren bei einer Gesprächsführung und möglichen Intervention unbedingt berücksichtigt werden müssen. Das Thema Schulabsentismus soll aus soziologischer sowie aus individueller und institutioneller Perspektive beleuchtet werden. Dabei soll auch auf die Auswirkungen für die Jugendlichen und die Notwendigkeit zur Prävention eingegangen werden, bevor im vierten Kapitel die Methode der motivierenden Gesprächsführung ausführlich dargestellt wird. Anschlie end ist zu prüfen, welche allgemeinen Faktoren bei einer Gesprächsführung mit Jugendlichen zu beachten sind und wie eine Gesprächsführung im schulischen Kontext gelingen kann. Anhand eines Fallbeispiels einer schulabsenten Schülerin soll veranschaulicht werden, wie die motivierende Gesprächsführung als Intervention theoretisch eingesetzt werden kann und welche Möglichkeiten, aber auch Grenzen sie hat.
