Der vorliegende Schiilerduden "Die Geschichte" will nun Schiilern, Stu- denten und historisch interessierten Laien ein Nachschlagewerk an die Hand geben, das Wissenslticken schlieBt und schnell und zuverlassig tiber historische Ereignisse und historische FachbegritTe informiert. Bei der Stichwortauswahl und der Bearbeitung der einzelnen Artikel haben die Mitarbeiter, meist jtingere Fachkollegen aus Schule, Hochschule, Archiv, Museum und Erwachsenenbildung, neue Forschungsergebnisse einbezogen und neben der politischen Geschichte auch sHirker sozial- und wirtschaftsgeschichtliche Entwicklungen dargestellt. Dabei wurde vor aHem Wert auf die Einbindung von Einzelereignissen in einen groBe- ren Zusammenhang gelegt. Der Band verfugt tiber ein Personenregister mit Lebensdaten und Angaben zu den einzelnen im Text genannten Personen sowie tiber ein umfangreiches Sachregister, aus dem weitere Stichworte erschlossen werden konnen. Diese Unterstichworter sind im Text kursiv gesetzt. Besitzt ein Stichwort mehrere Bedeutungen, so ist dies durch ein - ge- kennzeichnet. Verweise sind durch einen Pfeil (t) kenntlich gemacht.
