Das Besondere an diesem Buch sind die exakten und alternativlosen Vorgaben für die zu erstellende wissenschaftliche Arbeit. Das Buch ist keine Bedienungsanleitung für Word oder Citavi, sondern vielmehr eine kompakte Beschreibung anhand derer der Studierende mit vertretbarem Aufwand ein ansprechendes Ergebnis erzielen kann. Schritt für Schritt wird der Erstellungsprozess einer wissenschaftlichen Arbeit mit der Literaturverwaltung CITAVI und dem Textverarbeitungsprogramm WORD anhand eines Beispieldokumentes erläutert. Dieses Beispieldokument kann als Vorlage für sämtliche zu erstellenden Arbeiten im Laufe des Studiums genutzt werden.

Mechtild Becker wurde 1963 im Münsterland geboren und studierte russische und polnische Philologie und Politikwissenschaften an der Universität Münster mit Aufenthalten in Wolgograd/GUS und Wroclaw/VR Polen. Am Anschluss an ihre Promotion zur Doktorin der Philosophie im Jahr 1994 arbeitete Frau Becker unter anderem als Redakteurin für Wörterbücher sowie als Produktmanagerin für Lernsoftware und Lexika. Von 2001 bis zu ihrem Antritt an der Hochschule Kempten im Jahr 2013 war sie freiberuflich als Redakteurin, Texterin, Dozentin, Kommunikationstrainerin und Trainerin für interkulturelle Kompetenz tätig. Zum Sommersemester 2013 folgte Dr. Becker dem Ruf der Hochschule Kempten für das Lehrgebiet Interkulturelle Kommunikation und internationales Beziehungsmanagement.
