In an enchanted valley halfway to Fairyland is a castle where only shadows live, shadows who have waited for hundreds of years for the spell cast on them to be broken.

One day a girl named Lucy follows a little white dog through a tunnel into her mountain and finds the valley. There she meets the mysterious red-haired Michael, who takes her into the castle to meet Gloria, the mortal princess who married a fairy, their children and their children's children, and learn the secret that will finally lift the spell.

This expanded Author's Edition contains additional chapters not published in the first edition.
