This collection of photos show examples of this craft ranging from tiny sail boats in a scotch bottle to square riggers under full sail leaving a village harbor in a jug. Most are antiques, by unknown makers.

This collection is put together with a short history of the craft by Leo P. Convery Sr. Bottles in this collection come from all over the world. Ship in bottles date back from the early 1700's to 1800's. It is impossible to date them or determine country of origin unless the maker has added some identifying marks such as a date or country flag. Most were made by individual craftsmen who are long gone to where ever old sailors go. There are many fine ship in bottle craftsmen and women who are still making them today. I hope this collection will bring you some pleasure and appreciation while you are looking through these pages.
