Michelle held the belief that everything in life had a price. At some stage, somewhere down the line, it always seemed to be payback time. She was a loner who hated the dreams and weaknesses in her own mind, but then she found love. The real thing. The experience was exhilarating, but the price exorbitant. This novel is the epic saga of a young woman's battle for love and recognition in a life that had all the odds stacked against her. With her mind severely traumatised at a tender age she fought back with everything at her disposal, which included an iron will, a brilliant mind and stunning beauty. Somehow that never seemed to be quite enough. Through the darkness and despair of her sensuality and her fantasies she strived for her share of love and happiness. She was just never really sure how she wanted it packaged.

Leon Mare was born in South Africa and lived close to the Kruger National Park for most of his life. He was involved in extensive wildlife research, and spent a considerable amount of time in the African wilderness. Dr. Mare has an intimate knowledge of the wilder side of Africa, which is reflected in most of his work. He has written several TV drama series, and produced a TV documentary on marlin fishing. He has published seven books, the latest being book five in the Sam Jenkins Trilogy series. In 2013 Leon and his wife Monica returned to South Africa after ten years in the UK. They settled in the tiny village of Yzerfontein on the Cape West Coast, where he spends his days writing, fishing and bundu bashing with his best friend Mother Nature.
