About the Author: Pippa Mukherjee has been an environmentalist and nature lover for many years, and has worked in various capacities as an instructor in the field of natural history. She has also been a consultant and nature education officer. She taught at the Kodaikanal International School for nineteen years and has supervised many visiting biology students from abroad on environmental projects. She has been on the committee of the Bombay Natural History Society from 1980 to 1984 and has written extensively on gardening, health, and the environment. A founder member of the Palni Hills Conservation Council, she invests much of her time in working with students on the importance and preservation of natural resources. She has three books to her credit: Common Trees of India, Trees of India and Flora of the Southern Western Ghats and Palnis (2016, Niyogi Books).
